Wilderness Adventures students don’t need any previous experience to excel in our programs. A desire to try new things, make new friends, and see some of the most beautiful places on earth are all you need to be successful at WA, and our Trip Leaders will teach you the rest!

All WA trips are designed to be open for all levels of physical fitness and trip leaders are trained to move at an appropriate beginner pace and take into account the entire groups’ abilities.
Additionally, the Wild Wyoming trip is designed specifically for cancer survivors and every participant will have a history of cancer so your child will not be alone if they have any side effects from their treatment.

We would love to chat through your concerns about the trip to understand the specifics of your child’s needs. We believe that the outdoors and this trip should be available to all so we will do our best to accommodate your child.

The biggest items needed for these trips are sleeping bag and pad, backpack, and hiking boots. Through the Wilderness Adventures Foundation and funding by Lindsay Payne, equipment can be borrowed or provided free of change. We will work with each family on a case by case basis to ensure everyone is equipped appropriately for the trip.

As parents of four WA students themselves, our directors Tom and Catherine Holland understand the trust it takes to send your child on a program like WA. We have a 24-hour on-call line in case groups need support from our Leadership Team. For the Wild Wyoming trip, the group will never be more that X hours from ……. Additionally, specifically for the Wild Wyoming trip, one of the trip leaders will either be an EMT or a nurse.
